How Much Does a Private Hibachi Chef Cost in 2025?

A complete breakdown of hibachi at home pricing — per-person rates, event minimums, add-ons, and what actually affects your final quote.

March 15, 2025

Booking a private hibachi chef for your home or backyard is one of the most memorable ways to host a party — but before you start inviting guests, you need to know what it actually costs. Here's a complete, honest breakdown of hibachi-at-home pricing in 2025.

The Base Rate

At Hibachi Connect, the standard pricing is straightforward:

  • Adults (13+): $60 per person
  • Children ages 4–12: $30 per child
  • Children 3 and under: Free
  • Event minimum: $600

That means for a party of 10 adults, you're looking at $600 — right at the minimum. A party of 15 adults runs $900. Most backyard parties fall between $600–$1,500 depending on group size and add-ons.

What's Included in the Price

Your base rate covers everything you'd expect from a full hibachi restaurant experience — except it happens in your backyard:

  • Professional private hibachi chef
  • Full teppanyaki grill and all cooking equipment
  • All ingredients (proteins, vegetables, fried rice)
  • All sauces and condiments
  • Full setup before the event
  • Complete cleanup after the event
  • Live cooking show and chef entertainment

You provide: tables, chairs, and your guests. That's it.

Add-Ons That Affect the Total

Want to customize your menu? Add-ons are priced per order:

| Add-On | Price | |---|---| | Extra protein (any) | $15/order | | Filet Mignon | $20/order | | Lobster Tail | $25/order | | Yakisoba Noodles | $5/order | | Gyoza (8 pc) | $10/order | | Edamame | $6/order |

Premium protein upgrades (Filet Mignon +$5/person, Lobster Tail +$10/person) are also available when selecting your 2 included proteins.

Travel Fees

Hibachi Connect serves all 50 states. For locations beyond a reasonable distance from the assigned chef's base, a travel fee may apply. This is always disclosed before you confirm your booking — no surprise charges.

Gratuity

Gratuity is not included in your quoted price and is entirely at your discretion. That said, hibachi chefs work hard to put on a great show, and tips are always appreciated by the team.

How Does It Compare to a Restaurant?

A hibachi restaurant typically charges $40–$70 per person, but that doesn't include drinks, tax, tip, or the experience of having a private chef at your home. When you factor in the full entertainment value and personalized service, a private chef at home is often the better deal — especially for groups of 12 or more.
